Solaiman Ahmed-Zakiyy Richardson, a 39-year-old fugitive wanted for second-degree murder in Washington, D.C., is believed to be hiding in Baltimore, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers on July 18 responded to the 100 block of Fort Drive NE in Washington after reports of a disturbance involving roommates. There, officers found a man inside the apartment suffering from an unknown injury.
The victim, later identified as 41-year-old Allen Sharpsire, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined he died from a gunshot wound, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.
Investigators eventually identified Richardson as a suspect in the case, and on July 28, a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to the Marshals Service.
Richardson is believed to have fled to Baltimore since the murder and is known to frequent several areas across the city, including the 100 block of East Pratt Street, the 600 block of North Howard Street, and the unit block of West North Avenue, according to investigators.
“Richardson is believed to be living a transient lifestyle, which can make him difficult to track down,” said Jennifer Mazza, a deputy marshal with the Marshals Service.
Investigators added that the murder weapon has yet to be recovered, and therefore, Metro PD has labeled Richardson armed and dangerous.
Investigators have released several images of Richardson and hope someone will have information concerning his whereabouts.
Richardson is about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. Investigators said he has a scar on his left eye from being stabbed previously.
A $2,500 reward is currently being offered for information that will lead to Richardson’s arrest.
Anyone with information concerning Richardson’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Metropolitan Police Department at 202-727-9099, text tips to 50411, or contact the Marshals Service at 202-819-5058.
